At Michael Lane
Preschool, we promote the growth and development of the
whole child, while providing a supportive and
educational environment for the parent.
Our children learn
though supervised play in a warm, secure, non-critical
atmosphere. We seek to have each child, regardless of
age, learn from the other children, value their gifts,
and develop a positive attitude toward school and
learning. When children share positive experiences with
other children, they grow and develop both socially and
academically.
Our goals are to promote the children’s social, physical
and cognitive growth; develop their sense of self-worth;
share the wonder of learning using an emergent
curriculum; and promote the development of positive
attitudes towards themselves, their abilities and future
learning. We seek to establish thoughtful and
consistent limits to help each child decide what kinds
of behavior work best for problem solving. |

We offer a mix-age
group classroom for children two years nine months to
five years old. We focus on helping younger
children work through separation issues, become
comfortable in the preschool environment, learn to play
cooperatively, and develop the self-confidence they need
to make independent choices We help older children
develop self-expression, improve language skills, make
good decisions, find solutions to conflicts and exercise
inner control, understand and accept boundaries, become
self-reliant, and become sensitive to others' needs. |
